Reni Armanita

Illustrator / Graphics Designer

Hello! I’m Reni, an Indonesian illustrator. Growing up with Japanese anime and comic books, my life has always been surrounded by art and design. I received my Bachelor's degree from Visual Communication Design, Institut Teknologi Bandung in 2013, and worked as a freelance graphics designer/illustrator. Most of my jobs involved cover design for nonfiction books. However, my little daughter's enthusiasm in books and the rise of marginalized voices in international market have reignited the dream I once had—to be a children's book illustrator. And here we are.

In the past few years, as my life has faced many difficulties, I have become more aware of mental health. I am thankful to have some people who support me and believe in me. Therefore, I wish to spread positive messages in my creations. I like to draw themes of hope and strength, because I want my illustrations to inspire others as well.

When I’m not drawing or taking care of the kids, you’ll probably find me watching TV shows with my husband, scrolling through Twitter, or exercising while listening to KPop songs.
